Installation Instructions for 5301EL1001G

Tools Needed:

• Screwdriver

1. Unplug appliance and/or turn off circuit breakers to prevent electrocution.
2. Remove screws in the rear of the dryer. Pull main top back and lift. Remove control panel by lifting locking tabs and lift panel forward. Remove the screws securing the support bracket.
3. Disconnect door switch wire harness and set aside.
4. Open dryer door and remove the lower two screws, lift front panel forward and lift. Disconnect the light switch and moisture sensor wire harnesses.
5. Remove the front bulk head screws. Remove the screws that secure the duct housing to the blower assembly. Remove the front bulk head.
6. Reach in under the drum to pull the idler pulley toward the outside of the machine to remove the belt off the pulley. Guide the drum out of the machine with the belt.
7. Disconnect the bottom two wires and the wires from the rear high limit thermostat from the heating element. Remove screws securing the heating element and remove the old element.
8. To install the new element, insert the new element the same way the old one was installed. Replace the screws. Reattach all wires.
9. Guide the drum back into the machine and make sure the dryer belt is placed with the ridges facing down. Reach in to reattach the belt into the idler pulley.
10. Replace the front bulkhead, replace screws to secure the bulkhead and the duct housing. Replace the moisture sensor and light switch wire harnesses. Replace the front panel, open door and replace the two screws. Close door.
11. Replace the support bracket by inserting them into the slots and securing with the screws, reattach the door switch wire harness. Replace the control panel and secure with screws. Reattach the main top and secure with screws.
12. Plug in appliance and dryer is all set.

Note:

If you are replacing your dryer element, thermal fuse or thermostat because your dryer is having trouble heating up, we recommend replacing the dryer element, thermal fuse and the thermostat.

10. Replace the front bulkhead, replace screws to secure the bulkhead and the duct housing. Replace the moisture sensor and light switch wire harnesses. Replace the front panel, open door and replace the two screws. Close door.
11. Replace the support bracket by inserting them into the slots and securing with the screws, reattach the door switch wire harness. Replace the control panel and secure with screws. Reattach the main top and secure with screws.
12. Plug in appliance and dryer is all set.
